Banana oats cake -oats recipes

           It was almost a year a ago when I baked this cake and then I stopped baking due to my busy schedules and health.I was longing to bake something again one of these days especially when I saw some lovely bakes in other blogs and even bookmarked them. Finally my son also started asking me to bake a cake for him. I saw this recipe in Ria's space. She had actually made them into cute muffins.I loved the recipe which included oats, wheat flour and bananas. The cake was just yummy. My son had this for his breakfast before leaving for school. He gave me a thumbs up which gave me a big relief and immense satisfaction!!
            I just wish I had added some chopped walnuts too. So if you do have them add a handful to the batter.Walnuts and banana does makes a wonderful combination.
Banana oats cake

 Recipe courtesy- Ria's collection( with  minor modifications)

Self raising flour- 1 cup
Whole wheat flour-1/2cup
Oats- 1cup
Baking soda- 1tsp
Veg oil- 1/3 cup
Mashed banana - 1cup

  Combine all the dry ingredients(Flours,oats, baking soda) in a bowl. In another bowl, beat the egg and add the sugar. Mix well till the mixture froths. Add the milk and vegetable oil followed by mashed banana. Mix well. Now fold in the dry ingredients mixture gradually into the wet mixture. Combine to form a uniform batter.
     Pour the batter in a greased and floured tin(8'). Bake this at 180c for 30 minutes or till the cake is done. Cool and invert the cake. Slice and serve.
   Refrigerate the remaining cake. Microwave for few seconds and serve it warm.
