If you are following my blog for a couple of months now, you must be knowing how much I love baking and my and my family’s love for cakes and bakes especially chocolate cakes. But when it comes to the amount of fats and sugar , I had almost been avoiding/minimised baking for years now. But lately I have been substituting fats , sugar, carbs with healthy and low fat/low calorie ingredients . So we have been enjoying our favourite desserts. I hope you try this one and let me know how it turns out for you and do look at the notes for more substitutes. If you try anything new,do mention about it in the comments.

Black chick peas brownies - Eggless healthy baking recipes
Preheat the oven to 180c.
Grease a brownie pan or square pan (I used a small bundt)
Now go on mixing all the ingredients in a blender as stated below.
If you are using canned chickpea, drain the water, rinse and use.
If you are using the dried ones, soak the chickpeas in water overnight.
Drain the water completely, cook in a pressure cooker till a little soft.
You can also use the soaked ones directly, but it might be difficult to grind it.
Add the black chick pea in the blender/mixer followed by oats.
Add the baking powder and baking soda.
Add the cocoa powder and oil.
Grind this mixture to a smooth paste.
Add milk if you find it very difficult to grind. Don't use more than the mentioned amount.
Add the vanilla essence and chocolate chips.
Pour the mixture into the prepared pan.
Bake at 180c for 15-20 minutes or until done.
Cool well for 15 minutes and then remove from pan or slice into squares .
Serve with some chocolate syrup or icecream if you wish!!
1. You can use black beans, white beans or even white chickpeas.
2. Use more sugar for more sweetness or try using maple syrup,stevia,honey etc. As I have not used, I am not sure about the quantity required. Will update the post when I try using any sugar substitutes.
3. I used quick cooking oats.
