I decided to bake a mango cake. I used a simple vanilla cake recipe and adjusted the ingredients to include the mango puree. I used fresh indian mango(banganapalli) variety . I did not bother to try with the whole wheat flour this time and went ahead with the refined flour. The cake turned out to be very soft and spongy.
The recipe uses whole wheat flour and no refined flour. I have used unrefined sugar too. It has a mild sweetness and is very apt for breakfast or mid morning snack. The recipe is a keeper.
I have seen in a couple of blogs featuring them and they looked quite tempting. I wouldn’t call this cake completely healthy. I have used an egg and the regular granulated sugar and the usual ingredients. Except that I have added more of whole wheat flour and a little of plain flour. But for a more whiter and a spongier texture, you can consider using plain flour completely.
This brownies are very easy and quick to make. Its basically adding a few wet ingredients to a readymade brownie mix. See the recipe to know more about it.
Make you cake healthy and delicious and eat it without any guilt feeling. I have also included a video in it for your reference.
Recently, I was just getting nostalgic about my school days at pune. I was around 7 years around that time. There was this tiny cute bakery on my way back from school with full of yummy colourful goodies. Everyday as I walked back home holding my moms fingers, I use to be tempted and craved for each of those yums. This particular pink colour muffins covered with sweetened coconut fascinated me a lot. On some rare occasions, Mom used to buy the goodies. We ate with relish and enjoyed it to the core though if it was today , I…
I had made this muffins almost six months ago. I had got a packet of frozen khoya from mustafa last year with an intention of making some sweets for diwali , but never found the time. Finally when it was nearing the expiry date, I decided to make the muffins which I had bookmarked long ago from a few blogs. I did not want to use eggs or condensed milk in it. So I finally took a recipe from here and made some small changes in the measurements and eliminated a few ingredients.I think I baked the cake a tad more time and it sunk a little in the center. But the cake was denser as I had expected it to be just like we find in the indian bakeries. Its certainly not going to be spongy. But the cake was really good and it involves lots of calories , so I would not
I had made this cake long ago when my hubby got two plump looking fresh plums. We love to have fresh fruits as it is. But this time I decided to use it to bake a cake. I have baked cake with plum before. It was a low fat and eggless recipe too and I had used atta in it. This time I decided to follow a different recipe which I found after a search in the net. I have always loved fruits in my bakes. Let me tell you that plum cake usually means the ones made during christmas with…
There was a time when I was addicted to baking. I used to bake almost every week and I was always fascinated with a new and interesting cake or cookie recipe. I still do, but the frequency of baking has reduced. Its also because of health reasons and also time constraints. If at all I get the time to bake, I bake healthy cakes and cookies involving low fat and healthy ingredients. Similarly, now I am addicted to making icecreams. It was last summer when I made this mango icecream for the first time. Then after discussing with a friend,…
I have never been keen on making icecreams like this before.I did make make a few icecreams couple of times before , but I never could understand the science behind the addition of what kind of ingredients could make a perfect icecream. But after this one, I have been wanting to try more and more icecream recipes. I had got the popsicle moulds a few months back when my kid insisted to buy them. He himself used to pour some juices into the moulds and have them as such until I finally decided to use them in a proper way….
