There was a time when I was addicted to baking. I used to bake almost every week and I was always fascinated with a new and interesting cake or cookie recipe. I still do, but the frequency of baking has reduced. Its also because of health reasons and also time constraints. If at all I get the time to bake, I bake healthy cakes and cookies involving low fat and healthy ingredients. Similarly, now I am addicted to making icecreams. It was last summer when I made this mango icecream for the first time. Then after discussing with a friend, I have made atleast five icecreams since last month. There has been a significant improvement in the taste and texture of each icecream I made this time. The cherry icecream is the most recent one I made when I found really delicious and juicy cherries at the supermarket.
This time , I used evaporated milk in the recipe. It tasted like a kulfi. It was delicious and we liked it. But my son did not like the slight milky taste in it. I could have used the vanillin powder I had, but somehow it would have dominated the cherry flavour in it. But if you try this and bit hesistant about the slight milky flavour, then try using a cherry essence or almond essence. But if youare like me, just follow the recipe as mentioned.
