Coriander paratha- Indian breads – Lunch box recipes

Nothing much of a story about these parathas, except I found the recipe in a tarla dalal cook book . I love coriander and love to add them to all my subjis and my rasam is incomplete without them. I have been making lot of parathas nowadays, especially cheese parathas – my son’s favourite. I made them recently and it tasted quite nice. It goes well with some dal or tomato gravy. I did not find it very appealing with curds because the parathas were mildly spiced and went well with some spicy dal. But its your choice completely. Try them for a change. You will love them.

  1. Make a smooth dough adding water to the wheat flour as we do for the chapatis.
  2. In another bowl, combine the coriander leaves, other spices and the besan flour. Mix well together.
  3. Now make 6 portions of the dough. Take one portion.Roll it in a circle with a rolling pin. Place some filling in the center. Seal the ends. Roll it in a thick circle using some flour to rub while rolling them.
  4. Heat a tava. Place the rolled circle on the hot tava. Cook on one side. Flip and cook on the other side. Brush some oil while cooking them. When brown spots apear on both sides , it is cooked.
  5. Serve immediately with curds or some side dish.
