The flour is not at all coarse and is quite smooth and powdery which I thought will be quite ideal in baking. I have tried brownies with them. It tasted good but I still need to adjust the ingredients to make them blogworthy. But the cookies which I made similar to our Indian nankhatai turned out very good.
I do wish to come back to regular blogging but it really seems quite impossible these day as the routine work takes up all the time. Weekdays are very tiring and weekends are for relaxing so that we can regain the energy and be ready for the next weeks haul. […]
Chaat is a favourite at home. We all enjoy it and I do try to make it quite often with whatever ingredients I have in hand. So there is nothing of a compulsion except for a few ingredients which are readilly available. You can just proceed with whatever you have like puffed rice, store bought chiwda, sev, boondi, peanuts ,spicy dals. Mix them with onion and tomatoes. Pour in some sauces and chutneys and your chaat is ready.
This time I used pumpkin. Its a very simple recipe and can be done in a few minutes. This is also an interesting way to sneak in some pumpkin in your diet especially if you are a pumpkin hater. Many people I know hate pumpkin as they find it quite sweet for their taste. But in this recipe , you actually cant guess that there is pumpkin. Also cashews gives a nice creaminess to the pasta.
Boxed baking mixes are something which I buy very rarely. For regular baking at home,I prefer using healthy ingredients available with me to bake cakes, cookies and brownies. Infact I bought a few packets when I had got a new oven and just leaning to bake.
This brownies are very easy and quick to make. Its basically adding a few wet ingredients to a readymade brownie mix. See the recipe to know more about it.
I made the sauce with cashews and coriander this time. I have been wanting to use nuts for a long time. Cashews almost gave a cheesy taste and coriander a nice flavour. On the whole, the pasta was quite delicious and we all loved it.
