Dilkush buns/bread – eggless sweet buns recipe

    I have seen the recipe for dilkush buns in so many blogs though I have never had it before. But I have always loved sweet buns, so I had bookmarked this recipe for years.I finally got to make it few days before. It turned out really delicious and we enjoyed biting into the sweet little fruits and the coconut in the buns. The aroma while baking is also just divine. I do want to make this again.I hope you enjoy it too!!

Instructions
  1. Make the roux Mixing flour and water. Ensure there are no lumps.
  2. Cook the roux will forms a custard.
  3. Allow it to cool.
  4. Fold in the flour,yeast,butter, sugar ,salt and milk and knead to form a smooth dough.
  5. Add the oil in the end and knead to make the dough non sticky.
  6. Cover the bowl with a cling film.
  7. Allow it to rise and double for 2 hours.
  8. Meanwhile make the filling by mixing all the ingredients together in a bowl.
  9. When the dough doubles after 2 hours, remove the film.
  10. Punch the dough and knead the dough again for 5 to 10 minutes.
  11. Roll the dough to a circle with a rolling pin. Spread the filling on the flattened dough.
  12. Seal and wrap the ends. Place on a tray and seal with the cling film.
  13. Allow it to rise again for 30-45 minutes.
  14. Brush some milk on the bread.
  15. You can also make small buns in the same manner.
  16. Bake at 180c for around 10-15 minutes till done.
  17. Slice after it cools if you have made a bread.

Notes-

Fresh or dessicated coconut may be used for the recipe. Fresh coconut buns cannot be stored for a long time.

Original recipe used cashews, I have used walnuts.
