Eggless Oats Chocolate brownies recipe – Healthy cake recipes

          This is another healthy and guilt free cake I made for my family a couple of days back.I have used oats in my cake before. But here, I have just used oats and no other flour along with it. The recipe I have followed is my own recipe ofragi muffins which I posted a couple of months back. I have used coconut palm sugar , a recent addition to my pantry. It has a low glycemic index and therefore it does have some advantages in maintaining the blood sugar levels. However its not considered a healthier alternative to regular sugar. You can use brown sugar or even granulated sugar in this recipe. I have also used very less fat in the recipe. Yogurt is used a egg substitute here. If you want to add eggs, you can replace the yogurt with an egg. You can also add a small mashed banana instead. The result was very delicious brownie and we all including the kids loved it. It made a lovely and a healthy evening snack for us. I actually added just half a cup of sugar. It had a mild sweet taste and the chocolate chip also gave the extra needed sweetness. So increase or decrease the amount according to your desire. Even if you add a little less sugar, you can drizzle some chocolate syrup or honey or maple syrup on your brownie before serving to your kids. You can even top it with some icecream to make it into a exotic desssert.

Instructions
  1. Grease and flour a 7' cake tin.
  2. Preheat the oven to 180c.
  3. Grind the oats to a powder in a mixer.
  4. Combine the powdered oats, cocoa powder,baking powder and baking soda in a mixing bowl.
  5. Add the coconut palm sugar and mix well.
  6. Pour the yogurt and mix.
  7. Pour the milk and mix well.
  8. Pour the oil and mix well.
  9. Add the chocolate chips and mix gently
  10. Pour the batter in the prepared cake tin.
  11. Bake at 180c for 30-35 minutes till the cake is done.
  12. You can check the doneness by inserting a skewer in the center of the cake and it comes out clean.
  13. Cool the cake.
  14. You can invert on a plate and then slice them
  15. I directly cut them into squares from the cake tin and served them.
