Vaizhaipoo Vadai Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup chana dal
  • 1 cup toor dal
  • 1 banana flower, finely chopped
  • 2 green chilies, finely chopped
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste

  2. Drain the water from the dals and grind them in a food processor to form a thick paste.
  3. In a pan, heat a little oil and add the chopped onion and green chilies. Saute until the onions turn translucent.

  5. Add turmeric powder and salt to taste. Mix well and let it cook for a few minutes.
  6. Add the dal paste to the pan and mix well.

  8. Remove from heat and let it cool down.
  9. Wet your hands with water and take a small portion of the mixture, roll it into a ball, and flatten it slightly to form a patty.
  10. Heat oil in a deep pan on medium heat.
  11. Carefully place the vadais in the hot oil and fry them until they turn golden brown.
  12. Remove from the oil and place them on a paper towel to drain the excess oil.
